On today, the 80th anniversary of your death I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for the citizens of Riverside. And to your Family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.

Grandad, I was only 4 years old when you were struck down on your way home but still on duty. You were one week away from starting a new position as full detective . How ironic! I am now 84, but I have memories of you taking me for rides around the block on that same motorcycle. I will never forget you, grandad.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 71rst anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
