I would like to take the time to Thank each and everyone of you for your kind words. Captain Mike Stokes was not only a hero and a great influence to many that wore the badge but he was my Daddy, he was my Hero. My Dad stood tall, was proud and he didn’t demand attention when he walked into a room but he got the attention.

As far back as I can remember I wanted to be a Law Enforcement Officer and service just like my parents did. The day I graduated from mandate my Dad handed me my certificates. In that moment I could see how proud of me he was, and I continue try to make him proud.

For those that didn’t know Captain Stokes, he walked closely in his faith, and for that there is no doubt in my mind he is walking those streets of gold. God chose the best to add to his army!

Rest easy Daddy, you had big shoes to fill but because you taught us the way you did we can take it from here.

What can I say that hasn’t already been said about Capt, Mike Stokes? He was truly one of a kind. A professional, extremely knowledgeable, kind hearted, firm boss when needed, compassionate and understanding. Hard headed at times with a bit of ALPHA male thrown in but after every argument we ever had we still were friends. We started at HCSO around the same time and grew into FAMILY ! Dysfunctional extended family at times but ALWAYS family.

To honor Capitan Stokes, POINT 27 sent 27 Thin Blue Line Dog Tag Necklaces, engraved with “Blessed are the Peacemakers for they will be called children of God” Matthew 5:9, to the Houston County Sheriff's Office in Warner Robins, Georgia for Michael’s partner and fellow deputies. POINT 27 sent a Folded Flag Necklace engraved with “Greater Love has no one than this; than to lay down one’s life for one’s friend” John 15:13 for Capitan Michael J. Stokes’ wife.

Also sent to the Stokes Family from Shields of Strength was a US Air Force Dog Tag to honor Michael’s career with the US Air Force.

POINT 27 is a Non-Profit organization with a mission to strengthen and encourage members of the Armed Forces, First Responders, and their families, by sharing scripture on Dog Tags and Jewelry called Shields of Strength.
