I feel how weak and fruitless must be any word of mine which should attempt to beguile you from the grief of a loss so overwhelming. But I cannot refrain from tendering you the consolation that may be found in the thanks of the Republic they died to save. I pray that our Heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost, and the solemn pride that must be yours to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of freedom.
Yours, very sincerely and respectfully,
Abraham Lincoln

There are men & women that choose to wear a badge, to put their lives in harms way every day to protect others. They stand silently in a line of defense, but will, in a split second, step into the line of fire for another.
It’s not something they DO, It’s something they ARE!
We follow a lonely road… One of Valor… One of Sacrifice, we are your Law Enforcement.
Society may pay our salaries with taxes, but we repay it with our lives.
A LIFE OF SERVICE
To Ryan’s family, friends, and coworkers…. My deepest condolences and support. They say a person is never gone as long as they are remembered. Ryan will always be remembered, and every time a patrol car passes…..Ryan will be there.
GOD Bless & GOD Speed Deputy Ryan Proxmire

I'm saddened to hear the news of Deputy Ryan Proxmire. Originally from Kalamazoo, I had the great opportunity to meet him a few years back. He was funny, loved a great joke, and always wanting to help anyone.
This is a very tragic story of a man, husband, father, son, and friend to anyone he came across.
My thoughts and prayers go out to his family, and his extended family of the entire Kalamazoo County Sheriff's Office. Rest in peace, Proxy. You will be missed by everyone.
