Danger is inherently visible and on full display in our line of work. That being said, the senseless execution of Ella and subsequent shooting of her partner during what the public news outlets call a “routine car stop,” underscores that no car stop is routine, and danger lurks within the body in those vehicles we stop. Ella, you was a young, honorable public servant who risked your life in service to your city. You will be missed by your newborn child, your family and friends, and by your department and the people you served. Thank you for taking the oath to serve and protect.

Once again I find my heart aching because of the lost of another officer trying to do their job. My prayer today is that O merciful Lord, bless and keep the hearts and souls of those who have lost loved ones in the line of duty. Wipe away the tears from their eyes. Soothe their pain and bind up their wounds through the wounds of Your beloved Son, Jesus and provide comfort when needed to the family, friends and co-workers of Officer Ella French another hero taken far to soon.
