Rest in Peace brother and watch over us. We will protect and serve from here on in your honor.
I fight not for glory or fame, for they are momentary. I fight for those who can't. I fight for Justice. I fight for the oppressed and the down trodden. And if I should lose my life for these just causes, then I have no regrets, For I serve to protect the innocent. It matters not where or when, for evil knows no boundaries. Be it fire, flood, or the threat of tyranny, I will not flee. Justice is my weapon. Faith is my shield. Hope is my armor. Cry not at my passing, for it was my Honor to fight for you. Shed not tears of sorrow, But tears of joy, for now, I stand with God.

The true measure of a person
is not found in the
might of their arm,
their wealth
or their power –
it is found in the strength
of their character.
There is no greater testimony to
one’s character, than ones
willingness to sacrifice all,
in the noble quest of
providing protection to all
whom they serve.

Heavenly Father, the sudden and tragic death of Police Officer George Gonzalez, of the United States Pentagon Force Protection, has filled his family’s eyes with tears and their hearts with sorrow. We are distressed by the mysteries of Your providence. As Your child we want so much to say, “Not my will, but Yours be done,” but at times we find it difficult to do. Forgive us and help us. We pray by Your Holy Spirit, to accept Your ways as always best. Apply to these wounded hearts the healing touch of Your precious promises, and let them soon experience its power. Teach us not to mourn as those who have no hope. Wipe away the tears from our eyes that we may be able to see through the mist, beyond death and grave, to the Resurrection and Life assured by the glorious victory of our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, over death and the grave. May the passing of Police Officer George Gonzalez remind us that we, too, are but pilgrims and strangers on earth. Grant us the grace to love less and less the things that are material and temporal, and to love more and more the things that are spiritual and eternal. Teach us to number our days and to apply our heart to the wisdom taught by Jesus Christ, that He is the Way and the Truth and the Life, and that no one comes to You but by Him. In Your Mighty and Holy Name, I pray. Amen.
