I have worked alongside of Dan for 15 years and flew as his pilot for countless BORSTAR rescue missions. Good guy. Good agent. Like so many of the SOD guys it’s always a privilege and honor to fly with, I pray we can all get home safe.
As always when we lose a bother close to us on the job, no words can express the hurt. You were always great to work with Dan, we are sure gonna miss you. Rest now and we will continue the fight!

I feel how weak and fruitless must be any word of mine which should attempt to beguile you from the grief of a loss so overwhelming. But I cannot refrain from tendering you the consolation that may be found in the thanks of the Republic they died to save. I pray that our Heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost, and the solemn pride that must be yours to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of freedom.
Yours, very sincerely and respectfully,
Abraham Lincoln

We have lost a true hero; servant of the people in this Sonoran Desert, protecting and serving diligently. In better perspective, this state route, which is 2-lanes only; I have driven many times, which is lonely and can be treacherous at times, especially in the darken hours. Our condolences are extended to Supervisor Patrol Agent Daniel Cox's family and friends. " The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want; he makes me lie down in green pastures, He leads me beside still waters; he restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteous for his name sake. Even though I walk in the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil; for I fear no evil; for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me". Psalms 23: 1-4. Rest in Peace gallant servant.
