Thank you Deputy Dyer, for your service to our country, our county, and to my family. While my dad was on this earth, he was proud to call you his friend and his brother in arms. Thank you for watching his back, and trusting him to watch yours. Til Valhalla deputy.

The true measure of a person
is not found in the
might of their arm,
their wealth
or their power –
it is found in the strength
of their character.
There is no greater testimony to
ones character, than ones
willingness to sacrifice all,
in the noble quest of
providing protection to all
whom they serve.

Lord God, You came to Earth to show us what true love looks like. You taught us that love was about sacrifice, virtue, and service. You taught us that love means to lay down Your life for one another. For fallen officers everywhere, we thank You for their selfless example of courage and valor. We ask that You bless and keep the families and friends of these fallen officers. Wipe every tear from their eyes, O Lord. Help them to heal and to move forward in a way that honors his memory. Heavenly Father, bless and keep the families of the fallen police officers. Though the officer made the ultimate sacrifice in their line of duty, their spouses and children are also making an enormous and continuing sacrifice in living on this earth without their loved one. O Lord, help us to rally around these spouses as a community. Help us raise these children as if they are our children. It takes a community, Lord God. Bring us together around the family of a fallen officer to be that community for his family. Give us the means to uplift them and bear their burdens, as You taught us to do in Your Word. In Christ Jesus, I pray. Amen.

I worked with Terry for several years with Jackson Police Department before he retired and went to work for the Madison County Sheriff‘s Office. He is quite possibly the kindest man I’ve ever known, and one of the best police officers I’ve ever served with. He will be truly missed.

I am so sorry to learn of the grievous loss of Deputy Dyer when he died in the line of duty. To the Dyer family, fellow officers, and all who call Terry beloved, my heart goes out to all of you and may you find comfort in your loved ones and your strength in your faith. When my son was killed, the entire law enforcement community in our area embraced us in a circle of love and support. I hope that you continue to receive that same kind of support. It makes the unbearable less torturous, and I pray for your solace.
This is sent with the utmost respect for the dedicated service Deputy Dyer gave to his community and the residents of Tennessee and for the supreme sacrifice he and his family made on April 20, 2021
