Chad,
You always had a smile on your face and loved to cut up. I remember the good times we had while we worked in Henderson County. You were the life of the party both on and off duty. It’s always easy to say something nice about someone when they pass. However, I would have told you the same things if you were still here with us. Thank you for your service and ultimate sacrifice to the people of Texas. You are a hero in my book. Your life was cut way too short by a cowardly individual. There is no doubt you would have continued to serve with the same smile and professionalism. You will be missed buddy. I will never forget you. May God hold a place for me so we can catch up again.

Romans 13:1-5, Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. 2 Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. 3 For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and you will be commended.4 For the one in authority is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for rulers do not bear the sword for no reason. They are God’s servants, agents of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer. 5 Therefore, it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also as a matter of conscience.
Matthew 5:9 Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called the children of God.
Rest in peace Trooper Walker your job is done and will be carried on.

I feel how weak and fruitless must be any word of mine which should attempt to beguile you from the grief of a loss so overwhelming. But I cannot refrain from tendering you the consolation that may be found in the thanks of the Republic they died to save. I pray that our Heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost, and the solemn pride that must be yours to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of freedom.
Yours, very sincerely and respectfully,
Abraham Lincoln

Trooper Walker: Thanks for your service to the citizens of Texas and for your prior service. What happened to you could have happened to any of us--despite our training and tactical awareness. I pray for your family and hope they all grow older knowing that you were such an important part of their/our social fabric. Few men/women wear a badge, but you chose to protect others and carried out your duties with honor, dignity and courage. You have our humble gratitude--thanks for being there for all of us.
