Reflections for Sergeant David George Crumpler
In Extreme Joy, at Home; with The Good Lord...
In the most Abounding Pure Love!
Act 17:28 - For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets G4163 have said, For we are also his offspring...

Not a day goes by that I don't think about you. I miss you so much. You were meant to be an officer, and your care and respect for the people you protected was evident in everything you did. I was amazed at the outpouring of love and grace at your memorial service. Amazed, but not surprised. You were the most selfless person I ever knew. I'm glad others knew it too.
Your generous spirit lives on in your boys, and in my heart. Goodnight David.

I worked side by side with Sgt Crumpler on Day Watch North for several years until he retired. He was an officers officer who cared deeply about the troops on the shift. We honored him with a plaque with all of our names inscribed on it at a farewell retirement the shift hosted for him. He still watches over us. Rest my brother.

The true measure of a person
is not found in the
might of their arm,
their wealth
or their power –
it is found in the strength
of their character.
There is no greater testimony to
ones character, than ones
willingness to sacrifice all,
in the noble quest of
providing protection to all
whom they serve.

On behalf of my family, I extend our sincerest condolences on the grievous loss you suffered when David died in the line of duty.
To the family, fellow officers, and all who call David beloved, my heart goes out to all of you and may you find comfort in your loved ones and your strength in your faith. When my son was killed, the entire law enforcement community in our area embraced us in a circle of love and support. I know that that you will receive that same kind of support. It makes the unbearable less torturous, and I pray for your solace.
This reflection is sent with the utmost respect for the dedicated service David gave to his community and the citizens of Georgia and for the supreme sacrifice he and his family made on January 7, 2021.

Sergeant Crumpler, for many years, you dedicated your life to protecting others that they may be safe. It took a small virus to take your life. My heart breaks for the sorrow that your mother is experiencing over her loss. It is against the law of nature that a parent would outlive her son. Our Lord, who sees all and knows all, will reward you abundantly for your courage, dedication and selfless service. May He immerse you and your loved ones in His Divine Mercy. Rest in peace, good and faithful servant.
