I will miss him calling me Steverino, the fist bumps and handshakes before briefings and our conversations after. I will also miss his words of encouragement to take care of one another and to go home at the end of the day. I am thankful for our last phone conversation and I will always remember what you told me. Rest In Peace.

I had the pleasure of working patrol with JR when we were both new. He had a talent for being a perps best friend after the dust settled. I will miss saying hi to him in the hallway at work. He was truly a gentle giant.

Lt Reynolds, thank you for your commitment to service, community, department, and family. For the past 17 years we have either worked along side one another, or I have worked for you. You were so well respected amongst the GGPD family as well as the Garden Grove Community. You were there for me many years ago, and continued to be a mentor throughout my career. You will be greatly missed by many. God Speed, thank you again, and continue to watch over our family here at GGPD as well as the entire law enforcement community. Rest easy, we will take it from here!

Lt. Reynolds was one of the kindest human beings I’ve known and one of the most encouraging persons I’ve met. Throughout my short career in law enforcement Lt. Inspired me to work hard and to always go out there and be proactive. The love he had for the community, specially the youth is what made him so loved by everyone in the PD and in the city. You will forever live in our hearts and minds. Rest easy Lt. we’ll take it from here.

JR as he was known to all was the definition of a gentleman. Having worked with and known JR since 1998 I grew to know him professionally and personally. In fact we became good friends. Although time will ease the pain, right now it is still raw.
Until we meet again my friend.
