Please pass along my deep condolences & appreciation for Officer Shuping. Without men of his calibur, this Nation would not survive. I am no one to this man (family, coworker etc) but feel a great loss knowing he fought for laws & for all of us. I cannot adequately express enough appreciation or enough saddness at the loss of a fine man .

Thank you for your service & sacrafice. There is a special place in heaven for those of you who protect & serve with such selflessness.

Officer Shuping, our good Lord took you back to Him as your life was just beginning. Only He would know the reason. In the short time that you served, you put your life in danger each and every day, encountering all kinds of evil in this world. Your reward in heaven will be abundant. May our Lord immerse you and the ones you've left behind in His Divine Mercy. Rest in peace, good and faithful servant.

It is always so sad to see a fellow "Tar Heel" Police Officer go down in the line, and it is all the more horrible when it is a young Officer whose life is cut short so soon. May the Lord grant you eternal rest in Heaven, young man, and may He comfort your beloved family during this time. May our Lord help the family to eventually forget the sadness of this time of mourning and leave you with only happy memories of Jason's life as he loved you and sought only to protect and serve the people of our home State and Concord. Although you as a family are now hurting, may you eventually be able to say with pride and a smile: "Our son was a Police Officer." God Bless you and Jason with peace.

May I offer my sympathies to the family, fellow officers and friends of Officer Shuping. A young man in the early stage of his career is killed by gunfire while performing his duties. This is a tragic event that brings an emotional stirring of sorrow and anger. I have responded to the scene of a fellow officer who was fatally shot and every time I hear of an officer killed in the line of duty it affects me deeply.

May the Lord, who is our great hope, provide His special peace and comfort to all who grieve over the death of Officer Shuping.

Avenue of the Fallen

Standing at attention in their class “A“uniforms, badges gleaming and shoes like glass, are your brothers and sisters of Law Enforcement. All of whom have previously paid the ultimate price.
Today, like many others, they welcome you to this wonderful place.
As you march down the Avenue of the Fallen, all eyes focus on you as if to say “it’s OK, you’re with your eternal partners.”
A salute is followed and a tear can be seen on so many faces.
Welcome, you served well.
Now come join us in the ranks, another is coming home.
