Mrs. Johnson,
I do not know where to begin because I am catching myself still wishing, hoping, and praying that the news was not true, but it is very much a heartbreaking reality. I met you when we both ventured on the hill together to chase our dreams of becoming WV Police Officers. You began as a Basic Officer for the Charleston Police Department and I was a Basic Officer for The Montgomery Police Department. These are two very different departments but when we were on that hill we became one and The “177th” Basic Class became a family making you my sister in blue. Through our journey at the West Virgina State Police Academy I had the honor of getting to know you and watch you push to be your best not just for yourself, but for our class, the cadets, the Academy as a whole, Charleston PD, and your family. You worked so hard to be the best and gave your all. You strived to be the best Officer that you could be for your city and the people who needed you. Even at the academy you pushed everyone to be their best and you were there for us all throughout our stay at the WVSP Academy. After graduation, we went our separate ways but being separated, no matter what you still treated me with that big smile, laughter and treated me like I was your blood. I came to you more than once with situations I was in and needed help with and you was there for me each time with no questions asked. You helped me get what I needed, where I needed or guided me on how to proceed and I appreciated that more then you will ever know. You were that officer that made a change, you worked hard at doing your job which you did well while showing love, being compassionate, caring, willing to help and being unbiased to everyone you came into contact with and from every walk of life. You are a phenomenal officer and you will never be forgotten for your beautiful soul will be remembered and talked about for years to come. You made your mark in this career and you touched so many lives in such a short period of time. Cassie, you will forever be my sister in blue from the “177th”class. I had mad love and respect for you and everything you were doing in the career of police work and your life Ms. Johnson.
R.I.P Cassie Johnson Until We meet Again Fly High!
