In the WVSP Academy it is an officers job to check the ODMP page every day and print them off if an officer has fallen, then those would be read aloud during PT while we all took a knee, and a moment of silence would be taken for that officer.
I never thought we’d have to read one of our own. Reading this out loud stung even more than the last two days of anxiously waiting to hear any updates and then hearing the news. This made it real when I’ve just kept saying this feels surreal.
In the two weeks we spent together on the hill, your bright, encouraging personality showed. You constantly checked on us in the barracks and encouraged us to “hang in there, it gets better”. I wish I could say that now. Rest easy hero, we will take it from here sister.
