Reflections for Patrolman Edward Howard Burch
This was my Uncle we called Nute. He lived in the garage apartment behind us. His wife passed away in the same month. I recall the murderer was a neighbor and my Uncle was too trusting and cuffed him in the front rather than behind his back; the teen had a gun in his boot and shot and killed him. I was told he was at the end of his shift but took the call for a stolen car. My Uncle was tough, but brave. I was only 11 years old when he was killed in the line of duty.
