As a member of Blue Light Survivors and as human being my heart goes out to all the law enforcement and especially to the families of our fallen heroes. The anniversary of my brother's murder, officer Gilbert Vega and the second officer to be gunned down, officer Leslie Zerabney in October 8 2016 is almost here. My tears are for them, all fallen heroes and their families. May God Almighty bless each and everyone and keep safe.
My brother officer Gilbert Vega was my hero from my earliest memories as were all my brothers but he stood about the rest. He actually was my super.

A police officer should be remembered not by how he died, but how he lived! A great man has gone to secure a safe path for the rest of us to follow. Thank you to you, your family and the Georgia Department of Natural Resources. Our country is a little less safe without you. Rest in Peace Brother!
