I feel how weak and fruitless must be any word of mine which should attempt to beguile you from the grief of a loss so overwhelming. But I cannot refrain from tendering you the consolation that may be found in the thanks of the Republic they died to save. I pray that our Heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost, and the solemn pride that must be yours to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of freedom.

Yours, very sincerely and respectfully,

Abraham Lincoln

Linda & I are extremely saddened to hear of the loss of a great man and friend.

We send our thoughts and wishes, love & support to his family in these difficult times.

Tom was a true gentlemen and a real STAND UP GUY. I don't ever remember hearing him swear. For a cop or firefighter I can tell you that it's extremely rare quality to have.

To his wife Nancy and his children Hannah, Paul, Matt & Rachel, I just want you to know that he LIVED for all of you and ALWAYS spoke glowingly about his life with you and all your accomplishments.

GOD BLESS you my friend.

Thank you for your service and ULTIMATE SACRIFICE!!

Rest in Peace
