Hey Sheena,
I have debated back on forth for awhile on what actually to write as I have been at a loss of words. We are taught at a young age that words are meaningless. Words are just symbols on a page until you can associate a series of symbols to formulate a thought. A cow would have no meaning to someone who has no idea what a cow is or a definition of a cow. But as of August 9th, 2020, the world will know a Sheena Yarbrough-Powell. As soon as I got promoted, you were always someone I could count on to come into shift meeting a bring a joy to not only me but everyone else you came in contact with. You were always smiling and never had a bad day. You were made to do this job and I second Sgt. Daniel McCauley that you truly are an inspiration and went against the grain on what we think a typical officer should look like as a whole. You changed so many peoples minds and I am better person to getting to know and work with you for even a short period. The world will know that Sheena means compassion, a leader, care taker, selfless, always willing to lend a hand, and take any challenge that was set before you.
I hope I am doing you proud by taking care of your husband. He's having a really rough time and I am trying my best to be a rock for him and your family. I always think of my people in my zone as my children as corny as that may sound. I take offense when someone hurts any of my people or verbal abuses them. You were hurt that night and I am sorry I wasn't there to protect you. So from a father figure at work, we got the line from here baby girl, rest easy I'll answer the next call for you.
