Officer Fontanez, I am again saddened to hear of your passing because of this horrible disease that has overcome us. You have served your state for many years and were so close to a well deserved pension and dreams of retirement, I am sure! God had another plan that is hard for us to understand right now. I do know that He has opened His Kingdom to you. You and He will watch over your family from above now. Rest in Peace, Brother.

Avenue of the Fallen

Standing at attention in their class “A“uniforms, badges gleaming and shoes like glass, are your brothers and sisters of Law Enforcement. All of whom have previously paid the ultimate price.
Today, like many others, they welcome you to this wonderful place.
As you march down the Avenue of the Fallen, all eyes focus on you as if to say “it’s OK, you’re with your eternal partners.”
A salute is followed and a tear can be seen on so many faces.
Welcome, you served well.
Now come join us in the ranks, another is coming home.

Even though the time has come to end the watch, they are still watching. Even though they are no longer with us, they are still teaching. The loss is new and the pain is great but we carry on for our family’s sake. Give us the keys, we’ll take over from here. Now is the time to release your fears. We got your watch, we’ll carry on, rest with peace my brother for your never really gone.
