While we may be unable to gather together as we might do during different times, know that the loss of Officer Leath is felt by the area in which she served, as well as throughout the state. We may not be able to celebrate her life of service or mourn her passing in the same ways, know that her loss is no less important to us. Officer Leath, your life and your sacrifice mattered. Thank you.

My condolences to the family, as prayers come from a far and near. I’m sure that uniform was worn pride and honor. To the family who has gave her a reason to be proud, I pray that you remember what a blessing she has and always will be every-time you’ll look at your grandchild. Stay safe, healthy and in prayer.

Thank you Officer Leath for the ultimate sacrifice for someone you did not know. Your only thought was to help someone in trouble. What you did will always remain in the hearts of many. GOD will take good care of your son because he will always know his Mother was a hero. He will be able to carry that with him for the rest of his life. If you wear or have ever honorably worn the badge, you are in a meaningful sense, known by your brothers and sisters in uniform. We grieve with your family, friends and child. Much respect and thank you for being part of our LE family. I’m confident the impacts on the contacts you’ve made the past 3 years improved the lives of those in your community and our nation. Thank you and I pray we’ll meet someday.

To IMPD and the Family and friends of Officer Breann Leath: my thoughts and prayers are with all of you. I had the pleasure of meeting Officer Leath while serving a warrant on the East side of Indy. Even though I was from another jurisdiction, Officer Leath treated me and my partner like we were fellow Officers. Officer Leath was very professional and treated the gentleman we eventually apprehended with respect, helping the arrest go smoothly. I appreciated her that day and never forgot her. This profession was so fortunate to have her. Although I only met her once, my family and I are saddened by her passing.
