Although I am not affiliated with any law enforcement agency and never had relatives serving in LE I always feel sympathy for those killed in the line of duty. Ever since a good trooper in our State (WA) was shot and killed by a dirtbag on the side of the highway I turned emotional every time I heard another officer or trooper across the nation died in the line of duty. Especially those who like Sergeant Jenkins tried to do good by rendering assistance and the coward took his life. For being a good man and Samaritan.
I applaud your actions Sergeant Ben Jenkins and thank you for your service, sir. May you always remain in the memory of those who knew you and had the fortune of working with you. RIP.

Sergeant Jenkins, your story is just so sad to read for so many reasons. Our society has just become very dark at times and you met that evil on the road that morning. I can just imagine you stopping to help him because that is what we do! You, Sir are a Hero and I thank you for your lifetime of service to our country and your Department. We have all lost a good man in you. I will pray for your family and I know that God will be watching over then along with you. Rest in Peace, Brother.
