Reflections for Patrolman Charles Ray Buckley, Jr.
Charles was my grandfather who I never got to meet. He also never got to meet his son (my father). I deeply respect his willingness to sacrifice his life at such a young age. His life and contribution to society has not been forgotten. Thank you grandpa.

Sandra, Charles' wife and I were classmates. I only met Charles a few times before he died so tragically. I will never forget the events of that fatal day in March of 1965.
The memory will last a lifetime.

I was at the JPD HQ yesterday and saw your name on the wall. Although I did not know you, your son was a childhood friend of mine and your wife treated me as if I were one of own. Your sacriface will never be forgotten. The evil deeds of a wicked man ensnare him; the cords of his sins hold him fast.

Charles was a cousin of mine. I never knew him because he was killed 33 years before I was born. From the stories I hear, Charles was a great man and devoted his life to serving his city. Always remember the fallen protectors.
