Reflections for Police Officer Matthew S. von Seydewitz
God of Justice, You are always faithful and quick to show mercy. Our Brother-in-Blue, Police Officer Matthew S. Von Seydewitz, of the New York City, New York Police Department, was taken from us on Monday, January 27, 2020. He died as the result of cancer that he developed following his assignment to the search and recovery efforts at the World Trade Center site following the Terrorist Attacks of September 11, 2001. Come swiftly to his aid, have mercy on him, and comfort his family, friends, colleagues by the power and protection of the Cross. We ask this in the mighty and holy name of Jesus, the Christ, Amen.
Jesus Christ taught:
“There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” [John 15:13 NLT]
“God blesses those who mourn, for they will be comforted.” [Matthew 5:4 NLT]

Officer von Seydewicz: Thanks for your service to the city of New York and to this great nation. The 9/11 debacle continues to claim our first responders all too early, but all of us who have served in harms way admire you and greatly appreciate your efforts to rescue your brothers/sisters, civilians and or to recover the fallen at ground 0.
