Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Investigator Cecil Dwayne Ridley

Heavenly Father, You are always faithful and quick to show mercy. Our Brother-in-Blue, Investigator Cecil Ridley, of the Richmond County, Georgia Sheriff’s Office, was suddenly and violently taken from us on Tuesday, November 19, 2019 in the Line-of-Duty after being shot and killed in the Line-of-Duty. Come swiftly to his aid, have mercy on him, and comfort his family, friends, and colleagues by the power and protection of the cross. We ask this through our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ; for He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one can go to the Father except by way of the Son. Amen.

“The greatest love you can show is to give your life for your friends.” [John 15:13 GW]

Prayers for this officer’s family; both blue and blood. May God ease their pain, and bring peace to ease their suffering. The people of Augusta have suffered a great loss, whether they understand that or not.
Those of us who wear the badge will carry on and continue to do a mostly thankless job. It is a task that we willingly undertake because for most of us it is a calling. A family business we saw our fathers and uncles and brothers and cousins do with dignity and pride.
