On today, the 70th anniversary of your death I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice as a Law Enforcement Officer. And to your Family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.

Captain Smith, thank you for your service in helping to protect one of the greatest assets of the United States, it's railroads. As the son of a man who started his long police career with the New York Central, I truly appreciate the work you do.
