Reflections for Deputy Jailer Michaela Elizabeth Smith
I stopped at the Christmas tree display in Chatsworth yesterday and came upon your Memorial tree and looked up your story. I read the story to my 19 year old daughter and we both want to thank you for your service. Your community has not forgotten you.

Heavenly Father, You are always faithful and quick to show mercy. Our Sister-in-Blue, Deputy Jailer Michaela E. Smith, of the Murray County, Georgia Sheriff’s Office, was taken from us on Wednesday, July 3, 2019 as a result of an injury she sustained to her head during Defensive Tactics Training. Come swiftly to her aid, have mercy on her, and comfort her family, friends, and colleagues by the power and protection of the cross. We ask this through our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ; for He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one can go to the Father except by way of the Son. Amen.
“Blessed are those who mourn. They will be comforted.” [Matthew 5:4 GW]

The true measure of a person
is not found in the
might of their arm,
their wealth
or their power –
it is found in the strength
of their character.
There is no greater testimony to
ones character, than ones
willingness to sacrifice all,
in the noble quest of
providing protection to all
whom they serve.
