Every now and again I will go to this website in the hope of finding that there are no listings of officers that have been killed or died in the line of duty. In my sadness, I find there are way too many brave men and women that have made the ultimate sacrifice, like Officer Mulkeen, as they unselfishly go about their duties protecting the citizens of their communities.

I pray for all the Peace Officers of our country and I offer my heartfelt condolences and sympathies to all the folks they work with, and especially their families.

May they rest in peace and God Bless us all.

Dear Police Officer Brian Mulkeen,
I am so sorry to hear of your recent death. I thank you for your dedicated service, truly THANK YOU. My prayers are with your parents, family, friends, community and the policy department. I see that this is friendly fire and I know they were trying to SAVE your life. This is an ambush by the enemy - not your partners. My prayers are with the other officers involved as well; and especially, now, for the one who accidentally shot you. This is tragic and you are all men or honor. I pray your soul rests in peace and that I will see you one day in that Academy in Heaven. Thank you and God Bless you.

In His Love and Peace,
Kim

I feel how weak and fruitless must be any word of mine which should attempt to beguile you from the grief of a loss so overwhelming. But I cannot refrain from tendering you the consolation that may be found in the thanks of the Republic they died to save. I pray that our Heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost, and the solemn pride that must be yours to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of freedom.

Yours, very sincerely and respectfully,

Abraham Lincoln
