The true measure of a person
is not found in the
might of their arm,
their wealth
or their power –
it is found in the strength
of their character.
There is no greater testimony to
ones character, than ones
willingness to sacrifice all,
in the noble quest of
providing protection to all
whom they serve.

"The Final Inspection"
The policeman stood and faced his God,
Which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining.
Just as brightly as his brass.
"Step forward now, policeman.
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My church have you been true?"
The policeman squared his shoulders and said, "No, Lord, I guess I ain't,
Because those of us who carry badges can't always be a saint.
I've had to work most Sundays,
and at times my talk was rough,
and sometimes I've been violent,
Because the streets are awfully tough.
But I never took a penny,
That wasn't mine to keep....
Though I worked a lot of overtime
When the bills got just too steep.
And I never passed a cry for help,
Though at times I shook with fear.
And sometimes, God forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around
Except to calm their fear.
If you've a place for me here,
Lord, It needn't be so grand.
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't.....I'll understand.
There was silence all around the throne
Where the saints had often trod.
As the policeman waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, policeman,
You've borne your burdens well.
Come walk a beat on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in hell."

God bless your parents and family who had created this type of person who lost life for serving this country. I am proud of your parents who taught you how to be a good citizen and how to take care of others around you. And you have proved all of their teachings are true. I am proud of my Punjabi brother Sandeep who made my community one of honorable community. Waheguru will bless you family.

I am praying for Deputy Dawliwal’s family during this difficult time. I remember seeing tv coverage of him a few years back that spoke of his outstanding service to the Houston community. I didn’t know him personally but I am thankful for his service. May God bless his family with peace and wonderful memories of Deputy Dawliwal.

My deepest sympathy to this young sheriff’s family and friends. Over the years I remember seeing him at different times on the news. Little news bits here and there of his interactions with the community. He had a very kind warm manner and represented what is best in our wonderful brave officers who place their lives on the line for us every day. It’s just heartbreaking to lose him. I firmly believe Almighty God will not tolerate this type of injustice for much longer. Psalm 37:34...John 5:28,29

I feel how weak and fruitless must be any word of mine which should attempt to beguile you from the grief of a loss so overwhelming. But I cannot refrain from tendering you the consolation that may be found in the thanks of the Republic they died to save. I pray that our Heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost, and the solemn pride that must be yours to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of freedom.
Yours, very sincerely and respectfully,
Abraham Lincoln
