Chris and I went to the Academy together. He was one of the nicest, and definitely one of the funniest, guys that I ever knew. He is truly missed.

I was proud to work with you in the 62. You were definitely a cops cop. You handled business, but always was able to calm things down with a funny remark. Good times bro. You are missed.

The true measure of a person
is not found in the
might of their arm,
their wealth
or their power –
it is found in the strength
of their character.
There is no greater testimony to
ones character, than ones
willingness to sacrifice all,
in the noble quest of
providing protection to all
whom they serve.

On September 11, 2001, many lives were taken by cowardly swine with a meaningless grudge; thousands of innocent civilians, Firefighters and Law Enforcement personnel from numerous agencies. The animals who did this must have known in their evil pathetic hearts that the dying would not end on that day or even in the weeks that followed. It’s been over a decade and still we lose our Brothers and Sisters from the fallout.
God Bless all have gone before and those who follow including Detective Christopher Cranston, you will never be forgotten. May your eternal rest be ever peaceful.

"This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one's life for his friends." John 15;12 & 13
" For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved." John 3:16 & 17

On behalf of my family, I extend our sincerest condolences on the grievous loss you suffered when Christopher died as a result of illness resulting from his heroic actions in the aftermath of 9/11.
To the Cranston family, fellow officers, and all who call Christopher beloved, my heart goes out to all of you and may you find comfort in your loved ones and your strength in your faith. When my son was killed, the entire law enforcement community in our area embraced us in a circle of love and support. I hope that that you receive that same kind of support. It makes the unbearable less torturous, and I pray for your solace.
This reflection is sent with the utmost respect for the dedicated service Detective Cranston gave to his community and the citizens of New York and for the supreme sacrifice he and his family made on July 20, 2019. We shall never forget our 9/11 heroes.
