A police officer should be remembered not by how he died, but how he lived! A great man has gone to secure a safe path for the rest of us to follow. Thank you to you, your family and the Texas Highway Patrol. Our country is a little less safe without you. Rest in Peace Brother.

Not quite four years. I'll be the first to admit; going through the Academy with you, I didn't know you that well. Survival was the priority; friendships were second. But you were an older recruit, and you weren't afraid to let your life experience be an example of character to us younger recruits. You were a solid rock to see, never wavering and always persistent in accomplishing the task at hand.

I wish I had known you better, brother. You did everyone proud, and our loss is Heaven's gain. We love you, and we'll miss you.
