When I received the first phone call reporting that a Mission officer had been shot, I immediately prayed for them. And selfishly asked that it not be anyone I know. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. Speedy, I'm going to miss your laughs, your goofy comments and most of all your professionalism. There is not a doubt in my mind that you are a Christian, so I know exactly where you are right now. We have no way of knowing why God called you home last Thursday but, even if we don't agree with Him, we know this is part of God's plan for you. We don't have to like it...we just have to accept it.

Until we meet again, Speedy.

In the short time that CPL Espericueta was on Live PD I came to feel that I knew him, his strong work and his big heart. I looked forward to seeing him again. I know law enforcement is dangerous but....never expected this horrific loss. And I grieve.
I send my love from San Diego.
