Reflections for Sergeant Kelvin Bernard Ansari

Dear Sergeant,
Thank you and your entire godly family for your service. May Angels watch over us that you left behind, we have godly men and women from all walks of life. Thousands you may have saved, but we never knew, words that you spoke changed hundreds of lives, we never knew. But we will one day. Because we're still holding the line praying for godly servants like you.
I pray for your family because I had a divine encounter with your mama, up here Charlotte way.
She is so proud of you, but would have never said a word save what I spoke out about my life, she said you never know what people go through.
I know she and your family miss you, so does the community of not only your state, but the world that you helped to make a better place along with your family who supported you in every way.
God Bless You All and Thank You All who supported this godly man.
I'm so sorry for your loss.
May your hearts be healed of all trauma.
In Jesus name.

Kathy Hudson
Acquaintance, mama.

I did not know Sgt Ansari, but I was supposed to partake in the Police Unity Tour riding from Richmond, VA to Washington, DC. I did not have a specific officer I wished to ride for, so I was given Sgt Ansari. Due to the Coivd pandemic, the Unity Tour was cancelled, but I still wished to remember Kelvin. I went for a ride today, which was in his honor. It was fitting that my ride is on the anniversary of his passing. I am honored to have been able to dedicate my ride to him, and hope his family will be in DC next year for me to present to them the bracelet inscribed with his name.

It’s taken me a long time to come to terms with this loss, 4 months and 18 days to be exact. Kelvin, you were my Police Academy study buddy, supporter, brother and you wouldn’t let me give up when I really thought I wanted to. You made me push myself and show everyone that I am a Police Officer, not just a female.

Over the years we did our own thing on the department & didn’t see each other often; but, every time we did run into each other it was like we never missed a beat. I took this loss pretty hard, it’s never easy losing someone who has touch your life in such a profound way. Every time I see your picture somewhere it hurts a little bit more, I just want to remember you by the good times and fun we had. Your smile & kindness will forever be etched in my heart.

May God watch over and protect all those you left behind, those who love and care for you. Rest in paradise my brother, we have the watch from here

You were a true gentleman filled with knowledge, dedication and generosity. The SCMPD days were great and there were a lot of great laughs and tough spots. I cant even count the people on this earth that are missing you.

On behalf of the Ohio Bureau of Identification & Investigation, our thoughts and prayers are with the immediate family of Sergeant Kelvin Ansari and the extended law enforcement family of the Savannah Police Department, Georgia.

End of Watch Saturday, May 11, 2019.

Rest in Peace brother and watch over us. We will protect and serve from here on in your honor.

I fight not for glory or fame, for they are momentary. I fight for those who can't. I fight for Justice. I fight for the oppressed and the down trodden. And if I should lose my life for these just causes, then I have no regrets, For I serve to protect the innocent. It matters not where or when, for evil knows no boundaries. Be it fire, flood, or the threat of tyranny, I will not flee. Justice is my weapon. Faith is my shield. Hope is my armor. Cry not at my passing, for it was my Honor to fight for you. Shed not tears of sorrow, But tears of joy, for now, I stand with God.

"The Final Inspection"
The policeman stood and faced his God,
Which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining.
Just as brightly as his brass.
"Step forward now, policeman.
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My church have you been true?"
The policeman squared his shoulders and said, "No, Lord, I guess I ain't,
Because those of us who carry badges can't always be a saint.
I've had to work most Sundays,
and at times my talk was rough,
and sometimes I've been violent,
Because the streets are awfully tough.
But I never took a penny,
That wasn't mine to keep....
Though I worked a lot of overtime
When the bills got just too steep.
And I never passed a cry for help,
Though at times I shook with fear.
And sometimes, God forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around
Except to calm their fear.
If you've a place for me here,
Lord, It needn't be so grand.
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't.....I'll understand.
There was silence all around the throne
Where the saints had often trod.
As the policeman waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, policeman,
You've borne your burdens well.
Come walk a beat on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in hell."
