Lord God, our hearts and prayers go out to the Tennessee Highway Patrol and for the family, friends, and colleagues of Trooper Matthew Gatti, of the Tennessee Highway Patrol, who was killed in the Line-of-Duty on Monday, May 6, 2019. Depart, dear Brother-in-Blue, out of this world into the arms of the Father who created you, into the arms of the Son who redeemed you, and into the arms of the Spirit who made you whole. “You have fought the good fight, you have finished the race, and you have kept the faith” [2Timothy 4:7]. Now rest easy in peace. We will take it from here. Amen.
Scripture teaches us that:
“Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.” [Matthew 5:4 ESV]
“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons [children] of God.” [Matthew 5:9 ESV]
“Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.” [John 15:13 ESV]
