Officer Olinger, you fought the good fight, from Marine to Cop, you always had the protection of others forefront in your mind. Sixteen years of fighting after such a horrendous event makes you even more a hero in my eyes. Those who know and love you best will feel your presence for all eternity because, though your physical life is over, you will forever be a part of them, and in a small way, all of us.

God Bless you, Brother and may your rest be ever peaceful.

On behalf of the Klamath County Sheriff's Office in Klamath Falls Oregon, we send our sincerest sympathy in the recent loss of your Officer, Kyle Olinger, from complications of gun shots wounds while on a traffic stop on August 13,2003. It is always a huge loss when a fellow Officer succumbs from injuries. His bravery and courage to protect and serve your community has not gone unnoticed. My condolences to the family of Kyle Olinger!

I had the opportunity to have Kyle as a PT instructor at the Reading Police Academy in 1996. Although I never had the chance to tell him, he made a profound impact in my life which has carried over into my career. He was a Warrior and someone I will never forget! Rest easy brother, we have the watch from here!

Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. John 15:13

My sincere condolences to the Family and friends of Kyle Olinger. It is certainly sad to hear of his passing.

He was an Instructor while I was a cadet at the Reading Police Academy in 1997. Ours would be his last class before he moved away. His Physical Training sessions were appropriately referred to as "Camp Olinger" among students. On that final day of PT training he sat us on the gym floor and spoke to us not as cadets, but as equals. He told us he was no longer 'F.T.O. Olinger' or 'Sir' - he was simply 'Kyle'. He taught us what he could. He encouraged us to be safe, watch out for each other and to do the right thing. Although I am no longer a Police Officer, there is rarely a day that ever went by where I don't, at some point, think of those I've spent time with while a cadet at Reading.

Rest peacefully, Sir. Salute

On behalf of the Ohio Bureau of Identification & Investigation, our thoughts and prayers are with the immediate family of Police Officer Kyle Olinger and the extended law enforcement family of the Montgomery County Police Department, Maryland.

End of Watch Thursday, April 18, 2019.

Rest in Peace brother and watch over us. We will protect and serve from here on in your honor.

I fight not for glory or fame, for they are momentary. I fight for those who can't. I fight for Justice. I fight for the oppressed and the down trodden. And if I should lose my life for these just causes, then I have no regrets, For I serve to protect the innocent. It matters not where or when, for evil knows no boundaries. Be it fire, flood, or the threat of tyranny, I will not flee. Justice is my weapon. Faith is my shield. Hope is my armor. Cry not at my passing, for it was my Honor to fight for you. Shed not tears of sorrow, But tears of joy, for now, I stand with God.
