Reflections for Deputy Sheriff Justin Richard DeRosier
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of god. Matthew 5:9
God Bless your Family.
This one has hit me hard. We both worked at Sheriff's Offices at the time of his death, and share initials. We also were about the same age, have families and shared a desire to serve others.
I've wished to donate a badge of mine to his daughter in honor of his memory. If anyone knows his family, please feel free to reach out.
God Bless

Hard to believe it’s been three years now. You’re never far from our thoughts. We’ll never forget.

Every morning I go to my knees. During that time I pray Psalm 91 over all LEO’s and this prayer also:
“Lord, Be with all law enforcement officers. Keep them safe and free from harm. They are Your soldiers on the front line of the battle against evil. If one should fall this day - wrap their family in your loving arms. Surround them with Your angels, loving family, friends, neighbors and caring people to comfort them. Ease their pain. Help them to mourn well. In Jesus' name and for Your Glory, Amen.”
I know that God sends those angels to watch over our officers, sometimes to protect them and sometimes to whisk our officers into His presence.
Feel His presence as God answers the prayers of many who have fallen to their knees on your behalf. Since the day of my son's death, I have carried every law enforcement officer and their family in my heart.
I have lifted your family to God every morning for over nine years. I pray that Justin's life and death will bring glory to His name.
Trust those prayers. God is with you; He knows and will ease your pain.
Our faith helps us to see beyond the grave.

Justin,
I was going through Law Enforcement academy when I got the news. I am going to miss your laugh and your smile. Although, I was only able to see you a few times. I will forever cherish those times and continue on with my Law Enforcement career because of you. Rest easy Brother, we will take it from here.

The true measure of a person
is not found in the
might of their arm,
their wealth
or their power –
it is found in the strength
of their character.
There is no greater testimony to
ones character, than ones
willingness to sacrifice all,
in the noble quest of
providing protection to all
whom they serve.

Justin,
You were such a shining star and made the entire dugout laugh. So coachable you were. You loved the attention and I wasn’t surprised when I saw you made Sheriff Deputy. You have moved mountains as a Deputy and left a legacy that is clearly everlasting. Rest easy brother.

Just wanted to respond to the inspirational memorial service aired on Fox12 this afternoon to honor the life and dedication of officer Justin Derosier. Justin lived a life, cut short much too early. He was an inspiring lad who grew to be a young man dedicated to his family and to the law enforcement career he loved. His family, friends, co-workers and townspeople will miss his smile and life for a long, long time. Rest in peace Justin. Fox 12, thank you for airing this inspirational service.

I hired this fine young man and he worked for me until I left office in January of 2019. A big man with a big presence, he was hard-working, dedicated, and fun. If given a project, it was done right and right away. He was a man who loved being a cop and his family. It is painful seeing his face on this page, but he fought the good fight, right to the end. May God accept him into His arms and give His promised comfort to the DeRosier family, the Cowlitz County Sheriff's Office, the entire Cowlitz County community and associated friends. You will be missed, Justin. Rest easy and we will continue on with you always in our heart.

Sheriff De Rosier, you have left a wife and young daughter when our Lord called you back to Him. Your unselfish dedication to protect your fellowmen will not go unnoticed by our good God, and He will surely watch over your loved ones. May He immerse you and them in His Divine Mercy. Rest in peace, good and faithful servant.
