Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Detective John K. Muller

Lord Jesus, as we watch our nation’s brave law enforcement officers succumb to the wicked and evil in this world, it becomes difficult for us to pick up and move forward. Our communities are on the brink of exploding with tension. In light of the law enforcement officers who are no longer with us, I pray for endurance for our communities and law enforcement agencies. Carry us through this time of strife, that through our struggles, our bonds may grow even more unbreakable. In Your mighty and holy name, I pray. Amen.

“And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” Then I said, “Here am I! Send me.” [Isaiah 6:8 ESV]

“Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.” [Psalm 23:4 ESV]

John was very eccentric. Dressed like Det. Harris from Barney Miller in the 077 Squad where most guys wore dockers and sports jacket ties draped around neck , not tied. Not John, wore nice suits , looked sharp with a cashmere overcoat. Brunt of many jokes but took it like a champ and eventually fought back. Had a heart of gold, loved his wife Christine till his death. R.I.P. Detective Muller

One of the many amazing men and women who gave so selflessly and heroically that day and the many days that followed. Rest in peace always knowing that your service and sacrifice are always remembered by your law enforcement brethren.

My Uncle and godfather...though we have not spoken in decades I never stopped thinking of you as my main male family influence growing up. I thank you for taking the time to be there for me as a teenager and I hope Nana and Pop Pop(Martha and William) are with you.
