Lord God, our hearts and prayers go out to the El Paso County, Texas Sheriff’s Office and for the family, friends, and colleagues of Deputy Sheriff Peter Herrera, of the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office, who was shot in the Line-of-Duty on Friday, March 22, 2019 and died of his wounds on Sunday, March 24, 2019. Depart, dear brother-in-blue, out of this world into the arms of the Father who created you, into the arms of the Son who redeemed you, and into the arms of the Spirit who made you whole. "You have fought the good fight, you have finished the race, and you have kept the faith" [2Timothy 4:7]. Now rest easy in peace. We will take it from here. Amen.
Scripture teaches us that:
“Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.” [Matthew 5:4]
“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.” [Matthew 5:9]
“Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.” [John 15:13]
