Reflections for Trooper Christopher James Lambert
Trooper Lambert,
On today, the 5th anniversary of your death I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice-not just as a Law Enforcement Officer but for our Country as well when you served with the U.S. Army in Iraq and Haiti. And to your Family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.

January 12th is coming up fast and I will not forget the day when Officer Lambert was taken from us. I travel this road where he was tragically struck down and killed. As a retired Chicago Firefighter I have seen my share of tragedies and when a young family loses a Father my heart breaks. I will not forget Trooper Lambert . God Bless his daughter and widow.

The day before he was taken from his family Officer Lambert picked me up on the side of the interstate while I was walking to go get gas. He brought me back to my car while the States roadside assistance put gas in it. He kept me safe. In just our short interaction I could tell he was a caring individual who put others safety ahead of his own. My heart aches for his family.

Year two is upon us Lamb Lamb and you of course are still ever present in our hearts. I think of you often for every week I pass the scene. You graced us with your laughter, your smarts, your can do attitude. I have enjoyed taking you diving and have asked you many times to protect us as we go deep. I know you are protecting our boys on ops. Peace be with you, Halley, and the girls. Love and miss you brother.

On behalf of my family, I extend our sincerest condolences on the grievous loss you suffered when Officer Lambert was killed in the line of duty.
To the Lambert family, fellow troopers, and all who call Christopher beloved, my heart goes out to all of you and may you find comfort in your loved ones and your strength in your faith. When my son was killed, the entire law enforcement community in our area embraced us in a circle of love and support. I know that that you will receive that same kind of support. It makes the unbearable less torturous, and I pray for your solace.
This reflection is sent with the utmost respect for the dedicated service Christopher gave to his community and the citizens of Illinois and for the supreme sacrifice he and his family made on January 12, 2019.

I had the pleasure of serving with Sergeant Lambert in the 21st MP Co. (ABN) during our Iraq deployment (OIF 08-09) and later as an MP working patrol on Fort Bragg. He was a great guy, and an awesome Paratrooper. To his family... Thank you, so much for sharing him with us, he kept his fellow Paratroopers safe in Basra, on the streets of Fort Bragg. I am so sorry for your loss.
