AND MY HEART CRIES...
I watched another Hero leave today...
A big black hearse... took him away...
His family... left behind...
To them... life is truly unkind...
No more Birthday Parties to celebrate...
No more long nights laying in wait...
Their Hero has given his all...
As he answered his final call...
And today... MY HEART CRIES...
What a long and lonely and very hard time...
That they will be victims of this terrible crime!
The courts will scramble to find justice for the guy...
who devastated this family... as we ask why...
and forever for him will be awhile...
till his day comes for his fair trial...
but one difference is still to be...
this scoundrel his life will still be...
we will see a Judge or jury... let him live...
because it would be cruel if death they would give...
Funny how it works in the end...
There is no victim equal or fair amend...
and still today... MY HEART CRIES!
We wont forget... those many days...
when at those funerals... our arms we raise...
to salute the Officer... the parent... the child...
who left us so soon in a society so wild...
the Hero who cared...
was not the one who was spared...
and... yet again...
MY HEART CRIES!!!
