Every day when you put on that Uniform, Remember there are people out there to kill you for you wearing that Uniform, Remember always, Brothers and Sisters in Uniform, You may know them, they might be Related to you, Maybe even a Sibling, They will put you down. Stay Focused, Stay Smart and Tactical, no matter how minor the situation may seem. I have survived a shooting situation and lived to talk about it. Stay Smart and Stay Alive and be Safe out there, no situation is the same as before.
Former Police Officer, Davey Bracker.

For Police Officer Joseph Shinners:
At this time of unbearable grief and tragic loss, I offer sincere, faithful and fervent prayer for Police Officer Joseph Shinners, of the Provo, Utah Police Department; his family, friends and colleagues. Lord God, may You bless and comfort them all in their time of great sorrow with Your unconditional and merciful love.
Rest in Peace our Hero-in-Blue. We will take it from here! God speed my Brother-in-Blue! And for the family, friends, and colleagues of Police Officer Joseph Shinners, please find comfort, strength, and hope in these words from Christ Jesus, “Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.” [Matthew 5:4]. For the Lord Jesus proclaimed, “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons [children] of God" [Matthew 5:9] and "Greater love has no one than this that someone lay down his life for his friends" [John 15:13]. For the Lord Jesus also promised, “… Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise!” [Luke 23:43].

This county has grown so much over the years, so I’m unsure if we ever crossed paths. That doesn’t matter, because your death still hurts me as much as if I’d known you my whole career. You will be missed. Utah county and the state of Utah lost another warrior, we will continue on and serve always as you did.

It is a new year and the first police officer killed in the line of duty happens. My thoughts and prayers are with the City of Provo, Utah and the Provo, Utah Police Department on this tragedy that has happened. I know that this should never have happened at all but it did. He left behind his wife and young son. This little fellow will never get to know his father at all who was taken from him just too soon. I am sure the suspect who did this will get the death penalty for this because Utah has a good firing squad that takes down cop killers instantly. So this guy who shot and killed Officer Shiners will realize that crime never pays at all.
