God bless you, brother in arms. You wore a uniform. It’s called a uniform because we are all in this together. You served. You sacrificed. You accepted and owned a duty of service to your fellow man. For that duty you have paid the ultimate sacrifice. You deserve our respect, you disserve our honor, you disserve our admiration and appreciation. We can never repay you nor your loved ones grieving today. But we can honor you. We can thank God there are those of you willing to stand in the line in our behalf. We can thank you. We can cry for you. We can hurt along with your beloveds. I do so now. Officer Flores, may God bless you and may God comfort your loved.

Every morning I go to my knees. During that time I pray Psalm 91 over all LEO’s and this prayer also:

“Lord, Be with all law enforcement officers. Keep them safe and free from harm. They are Your soldiers on the front line of the battle against evil. If one should fall this day - wrap their family in your loving arms. Surround them with Your angels, loving family, friends, neighbors and caring people to comfort them. Ease their pain. Help them to mourn well. In Jesus' name and for Your Glory, Amen.”

I know that God sends those angels to watch over our officers, sometimes to protect them and sometimes to whisk our officers into His presence.

Feel His presence as God answers the prayers of many who have fallen to their knees on your behalf. Since the day of my son's death, I have carried every law enforcement officer and their family in my heart.

I have lifted your family to God every morning for over seven years. I pray that Edgar's life and death will bring glory to God.

Trust those prayers. God is with you; He knows and will ease your pain.

Our faith helps us to see beyond the grave.

Even though a K-9 officer was able to begin to help even the score, full justice will not be served until the Lord judges. "Vengeance is Mine, says the Lord" and the demise of the evil perpetrator will be worse than what we mere humans can do. Officer Flores, your earthly life was ended so soon, but you are in heaven now, sitting as a hero. May God bless your family with peace and hope and pride in the ultimate sacrifice you made.
