Reflections for Sergeant Larry Emilio Marrero

It will be a very sad Christmas for the family of Miami Beach Police Detective Larry Marrero. His death comes almost one week before Christmas. His family will have to celebrate Christmas without him. The family and the entire Miami Beach, FL Police Department mourn the loss of this great detective. My thoughts and prayers are with the family of Detective Marrero at this time of his unexpected passing.

A PRAYER DEDICATED TO DETECTIVE LARRY MARRERO:

God of Mercy, we come boldly and humbly before Your throne in sincere faithful and fervent prayer. You are the Light, the Love, and the Life. We pray for the family and colleagues of Detective Larry Marrero, of the Miami Beach, Florida Police Department, who fell, as a result of a heart attack, in the Line-of-Duty on Wednesday, November 28, 2018. We thank Detective Larry Marrero for his service to his community, state and his country, the United States of America. He is a "True Blue Hero”. Bless the lives of his family so that they might find healing. Help the Miami Beach Police Department comfort and support his family in their time of grief. Even though his death may have been senseless, make something good come out of this incident so that the Miami Beach Police Department and the City of Miami Beach, in which Detective Larry Marrero served, might be stronger because of his life and death. We pray all these things, in Jesus’ mighty and holy name. Amen.

Rest in Peace our Hero-in-Blue. We will take it from here! God speed my Brother-in-Blue! And for the family, friends, and the Miami Beach Police Department, in which Detective Larry Marrero served, please find comfort in these words from Jesus Christ, “Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.” [Matthew 5:4]. For the Lord Jesus proclaimed, “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons [children] of God" [Matthew 5:9] and "Greater love has no one than this that someone lay down his life for his friends" [John 15:13]. For the Lord Jesus also promised, “… Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise!” [Luke 23:43].

May God watch over the family and fellow officers these heroes worked with. We can only imagine their pain. But we can sympathize with them and we must support them. Running to the danger when all others run away from it. Selfless and fearless to the end. They now work heavens Beat. And are in God's hands forever. Ever watching down on us all.

End of Watch Wednesday, November 28, 2018.

Rest in Peace brother and watch over us. We will protect and serve from here on in your honor.

I fight not for glory or fame, for they are momentary. I fight for those who can't. I fight for Justice. I fight for the oppressed and the down trodden. And if I should lose my life for these just causes, then I have no regrets, For I serve to protect the innocent. It matters not where or when, for evil knows no boundaries. Be it fire, flood, or the threat of tyranny, I will not flee. Justice is my weapon. Faith is my shield. Hope is my armor. Cry not at my passing, for it was my Honor to fight for you. Shed not tears of sorrow, But tears of joy, for now, I stand with God.
