You are a hero Samuel and we grieve with your family for their loss. I will never forget hearing over the police radio someone screaming "10-1 officer, we need more cars. We have to get into that hospital." And boy did those cars come. I have never seen so many police appear within a minute, no more than two. Hundreds. Unbelievable. And CFD too. But even a minute or two was too late. RIP. You are an outstanding policeman.

On Monday, I was watching the WGN TV Chicago news app regarding the shooting of CPD Officer Samuel Jimenez, a. Mercy Hospital, ER Doctor, and a Pharmacy Tech.
As the afternoon turned into the evening hours., I watched the large police presence at Univ of Chicago hospital, where the police officer, and the pharmacy tech were taken. As the hours passed, you could see the officers worrying about their brother. WGN TV showed care and compassion in not disclosing the names of the medical personnel who ultimately died from their wounds. At the appropriate time the Mayor of Chicago, Police Superintendent, and President of the FOP, held a press conference, giving details of this horrific shooting.

Officer Jimenez, played down his life to held others. May Our Lord have a Special place in His Heavenly Home for this True Hero.

My deepest sympathies go out the Jimenez family. Rest assured that this Day you will be with me in paradise.

Michael Sullivan, Patrolman
Retired Chicago Police Department, 9th District

I worked for many years in an inner city hospital. We had drive by drop offs as well as gang brawls in the waiting room. We depended on and loved our security force as well as police officers. They taught us early on what to do and where to go to be safe. As a young woman I took my safety for granted. Now I truly understand what these officers lived with on a daily basis. While most recent run from danger Officer Jimenez ran toward it. I don't think I can comprehend the amount of courage and bravery that took. Rest in Peace young man, you more than deserve it.
