Reflections for Deputy Sheriff Theresa Sue King
TK, for a few days now I have tried to find the right words to say to you. Sadly, I have failed to find them. Your smile and personality were extremely contagious. I will miss our long talks while drinking coffee on mids. Rest easy now TK, you’ve earned it. We will take the watch from here.

It is the brave that know the dangers of the battle but pick up the sword no less. Without the brave, the chaos now held at bay by them, would consume us. Anyone that cares so much about you and your fellow officers everywhere, feels the pain and sorrow of your senseless loss. A burden shared is lessened and we pray for strength to all that loved you. Your bravery and your desire to make a difference, lives on forever.
May God rest your soul and bring strength to your loved ones, until all meet at end of trail one day. With all respect. Thanks is such a small word.

My heart goes out to the family of TK, as well as her "blue" family. Although, I never knew her personally I would encounter her during work. She always had a bright smile and a word or two of encouragement. Rest easy sister.

My deepest condolences to Deputy King's family and all of her brothers and sisters of the badge. I pray that God will bring you peace and comfort in this great time of need.
I have worked in Corrections for nearly 20 years and have done SO many of these transports in my career. I tell everyone that the absolute most dangerous part of our job is leaving the safety of our walls.
Thank you Deputy King for making the ultimate sacrifice. Thank you for answering the call to put yourself on the line to keep others safe. "Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me." Isaiah 6:8.

The poem posted here by Sergeant Chad Miner, Final Inspection (part I) was written by Sgt Joshua Helterbran, US Army and in the places where the word "policeman" is found, the word "soldier" originally filled those spots, but this poem has since been adopted for each of the other Armed Services, as well as law enforcement officers.
This poem is a very fitting tribute for both Deputy Sheriff Theresa King and her partner Deputy Sheriff Patrick Rohrer who laid down their lives serving the people. Be it for the military in combat or law enforcement protecting our streets, each accepts the risks and places their lives on the line when they do their jobs.
