As a nation we loose a valued law enforcement beloved brother, or sister less than one every 58 hours in the USA. I know only too well what it is to be shot at by an illegal alien wanted in Canada on Christmas morning '77 at 0758 Hrs. I was alone for over 8 minutes and believe me it seemed more like 80 minutes to me. Just prior to that contact I had driven my radio car over to the local Catholic Cemetery to visit my best friend Larry Keister. He was killed in Vietnam and laid to rest in the Veterans Section there. I couldn't find his gravestone but I wished him a Merry Christmas reminding him that he was and always would be my best friend. I never found anyone to replace him in all these years. I really wasn't alone that morning as I had God and Larry as my backup when 2 9mm rounds came my way with the last round in the magazine jamming. My point is we are never really alone no matter what we face in law enforcement. Believe in God and he will treat you right every time. God bless those who continue to serve and protect us here in the USA. I gave 30 years as a Reserve Deputy Sheriff Sgt. in the Mounted Patrol and as a sworn Deputy Sheriff serving mostly in patrol with some Correctional, Airport, Jail, Shopping Center and even a sub-observer in the Sheriff's Aero Detail Hughes 150 helicopter shift. Always happy to see those selection this worthy profession to keep signing up across this country. You are valuable and appreciated and are never forgotten. Your cities, counties and states are lucky to have you and I hope they treat you well. God bless you especially today to Deputies Theresa King and Patrick Rohrer in Kansas.

My heart goes out to the families of these two officers. They did a dangerous knob. Transporting inmates is a extremely difficult and dangerous job. My condolences to the Department, friends and family members of those two officers..

The salvation of the righteous comes from the Lord;
he is their stronghold in time of trouble.
The Lord helps them and delivers them;
he delivers them from the wicked and saves them,
because they take refuge in him.

Sorry to hear this. My prayers are with the families, friends and fellow officers who'll now have to go out and police while holding back the temptation to begrudge those they must police, while yet keeping an eye out for their own personal safety. These incidents just make it more dangerous for everyone: cop and civilian. THE WAR ON COPS MUST END!

Am so sorry to hear about Deputy Sheriff King and Deputy Sheriff Rohrer.
My heart as well as many others are praying that God gives their family the strength to endure this awful trauma. Know their friends and colleagues will hopefully surround them with love and kindness so the
family truly knows their cherished loved ones are not forgotten.
As for the suspect I hope he does not survive. If he does hopefully he will
get shanked early during his prison term.
