Deepest condolences to Dara , family, colleagues, and friends. K9 Handlers know that they are at higher risk than others. When someone needs help, they call the police. When the police need help, they call K9. We know what we are expected to do, but we do it because we have passion for what we do, regardless of the risk. We love our K9 partners, and we pray that neither of us will ever have to make that sacrifice, but we know that it could happen at any time.
Thank you Sean for serving your community. Godspeed.
Prayers to Nero for a full recovery, and I hope the department sees fit to allow the family to keep him. There could be no better place for him to be.

When you think of Cape Cod, you never once think of a well respected police department losing an officer. I knew Sergeant Gannon not only as being apart of the Blue family, but personally. Sean would always pull me aside if I was in the station, and have me help train his drug dog Thor. If I went in on a day he was working, the second I would walk in the door he would be saying hello, with a smile. If someone was having a bad day, Sean would always turn it into a good one. I can remember when I had a speech at Cape Cod Cares for our Cops, Sean told me to not make my speech until I saw him in the crowd, because he wanted to hear it! Sean was generous enough to drive me to school a number of times on the days my dad was working. Sgt. Gannon will be very missed by many people, including me. Rest easy buddy!

I am Sean's dispatcher. We both started Yarmouth Police together in 2010. Sean always wore a smile, and always asked if we, in Communications, needed anything. Sean was my buddy, and I tagged along on one of his training sessions with "Nero". I captured them both with my photography. I miss Sean everyday, and will always have a heavy heart knowing that he is not here with us. Thank you Sean for everything.... Watch over us all.

Deepest condolences to Family, Department and Friends. Visit the web site ImagineHeaven.net for a glimpse of the Glorious Reunions awaiting. All law enforcement men and women indeed qualify as "Foxhole Christians" with their duty dangers. As Ray Comfort at LivingWater.com says "Passing is the doormat they wipe their feet on before entering Heaven.” It is our belief they will hear from the Lord Himself. “Do not fear. for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the Kingdom” (Luke 12:12).

Every morning I go to my knees. During that time I pray Psalm 91 over all LEO’s and this prayer also:
“Lord, Be with all law enforcement officers. Keep them safe and free from harm. They are Your soldiers on the front line of the battle against evil. If one should fall this day - wrap their family in your loving arms. Surround them with Your angels, loving family, friends, neighbors and caring people to comfort them. Ease their pain. Help them to mourn well. In Jesus' name and for Your Glory, Amen.”
I know that God sends those angels to watch over our officers, sometimes to protect them and sometimes to whisk our officers into His presence.
Feel His presence as God answers the prayers of many who have fallen to their knees on your behalf. Since the day of my son's death, I have carried every law enforcement officer and their family in my heart.
I have lifted your family to God every morning for over six years. I pray that Sean's life and death will bring glory to His name.
Trust those prayers. God is with you; He knows and will ease your pain.
Our faith helps us to see beyond the grave.
