Reflections for Police Officer Phillip Lynn Meacham

The salvation of the righteous comes from the Lord;
he is their stronghold in time of trouble.
The Lord helps them and delivers them;
he delivers them from the wicked and saves them,
because they take refuge in him.
Psalm 30:30-40

Members of the Westerville, Ohio Division of Police understand this pain. Our staff asks that everyone offer condolences and share this link. The Morelli, Joering and our Police families received love and support from all over the world when Tony and Eric were killed in the line of duty. That provided strength during that tragic time.

We ask that everyone send that same level of love and support to the immediate family of Police Officer Phillip Meacham and the extended law enforcement family of the Hopkinsville Police Department, Kentucky.

Rest in Peace brother and watch over us. We will protect and serve from here on in your memory.

I fight not for glory or fame, for they are momentary. I fight for those who can't. I fight for Justice. I fight for the oppressed and the down trodden. And if I should lose my life for these just causes, then I have no regrets, For I serve to protect the innocent. It matters not where or when, for evil knows no boundaries. Be it fire, flood, or the threat of tyranny, I will not flee. Justice is my weapon. Faith is my shield. Hope is my armor. Cry not at my passing, for it was my Honor to fight for you. Shed not tears of sorrow, But tears of joy, for now, I stand with God.

A Prayer for Police Officer Phillip Meacham:

Lord God, I boldly and humbly come before Your throne in sincere faithful and fervent prayer as we remember in this moment our Brother-in-Blue, Police Officer Phillip Meacham, of the Hopkinsville, Kentucky Police Department, who sacrificed his life in the Line-of-Duty. We recall with gratitude and respect all that he stood for in this life. Help us to live in the companionship of his spirit. May we be kind to the family, friends, and colleagues he loved; devoted to the community and state in which he served; and loyal to the causes which he championed in law enforcement. For Scripture says: God blesses those who work for peace for they will be called the children of God ; there is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends; I [Jesus] assure you, today you will be with me in Paradise, and; God blesses those who mourn, for they will be comforted. Thus, in our life, may Police Officer Phillip Meacham live on, to our great comfort, to the betterment of Your creation, and to the furthering of Your most Holy Will. Amen.
