Rest in peace Brother.

RIP Tropper Miller, may the Lord be with your family when times become unanswerable. As survivors, we always ask why? The answer isn’t there for the living at first, but it will come, when the good Lord is ready to tell you. I lost my son in this same manner. It has been the toughest (it will be 2 years on April 18) event we have ever gone through. Family of Trooper Miller, my heart hurts for all of you. I’ve begged and pleaded for my son to be brought back as it wasn’t his turn, in a mother’s eyes, but I keep getting the same answer, God will tell me, I needed him! We were blessed with the angels that would be chosen first. Now it’s our tern to stand guard and carry out their legacy. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Tropper, we’ll take it from here! You did a find job and we thank you for it. It’s time to carry on what your job is as an angel in heaven.

"The Final Inspection"
The policeman stood and faced his God,
Which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining.
Just as brightly as his brass.
"Step forward now, policeman.
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My church have you been true?"
The policeman squared his shoulders and said, "No, Lord, I guess I ain't,
Because those of us who carry badges can't always be a saint.
I've had to work most Sundays,
and at times my talk was rough,
and sometimes I've been violent,
Because the streets are awfully tough.
But I never took a penny,
That wasn't mine to keep....
Though I worked a lot of overtime
When the bills got just too steep.
And I never passed a cry for help,
Though at times I shook with fear.
And sometimes, God forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around
Except to calm their fear.
If you've a place for me here,
Lord, It needn't be so grand.
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't.....I'll understand.
There was silence all around the throne
Where the saints had often trod.
As the policeman waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, policeman,
You've borne your burdens well.
Come walk a beat on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in hell."

My heart breaks for the family, friends, and fellow Troopers of TFC Miller. It was a pleasure to work alongside him and never had any doubts that he had my back when I would see it was him rolling up to answer my call for backup. His smile was infectious and his presence will be sorely missed. Rest easy sir.

It saddens me every time I hear that a brother officer has fallen in the line of duty. I have lost several brother officers while with the C.S.P. and know how awful it is for brother officers and especially the family. Their comfort will be knowing you served the people of the State of Connecticut will with pride and dedication in a profession that you loved. God will embrace you with open arms.
