A Prayer for Police Officer Scotty Hamilton:

Lord God, I boldly and humbly come before Your throne in sincere faithful and fervent prayer as we remember in this moment our Brother-in-Blue, Police Officer Scotty Hamilton, of the Pikeville, Kentucky Police Department, who sacrificed his life in the Line-of-Duty. We recall with gratitude and respect all that he stood for in this life. Help us to live in the companionship of his spirit. May we be kind to the family, friends, and colleagues he loved; devoted to the community and state in which he served; and loyal to the causes which he championed in law enforcement. For Scripture says: God blesses those who work for peace for they will be called the children of God ; there is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends; I [Jesus] assure you, today you will be with me in Paradise, and; God blesses those who mourn, for they will be comforted. Thus, in our life, may Police Officer Scotty Hamilton live on, to our great comfort, to the betterment of Your creation, and to the furthering of Your most Holy Will. Amen.

A very sad time for the Pikeville Police Department as a fellow officer was shot and killed by a suspect that him and a Kentucky State Trooper were about to take into custody. It will be a very sad Easter for his family and the entire Pikeville, Kentucky Police Department, My thoughts and prayers are with the family of Pikeville Police Officer Scotty Hamilton who lost his life by going after both suspects who they had a warrant out for. They also go out to the Pikeville, KY Police Department and the entire community of Pikeville, KY as well.

I am not a police officer, but I have so much respect for all of them. I am, however, a member of the family. I never knew you and have not seen your mother for years but I think of her often. I now live in the same neighborhood she grew up in. My heart breaks for your wife, child, mother, grandmother, aunts, uncle and all of your fellow brothers in blue. You are a true hero and God has now welcomed you into his arms. I pray for peace and comfort to your family at this time.

I never dreamed it would be me
My name for all eternity
Recorded here at this hallowed place
Alas, my name, no more my face

"In the line of duty" I hear them say
My family now the price will pay
My folded flag stained with their tears
We only had those few short years

The badge no longer on my chest
I sleep now in eternal rest
My sword I pass to those behind
And pray they keep this thought in mind

I never dreamed it would be me
And with heavy heart and bended knee
I ask for all here from the past
Dear God, let my name be the last

Rest In Peace my friend, your job on earth is done. We’ll take it from here.

The salvation of the righteous comes from the Lord;
he is their stronghold in time of trouble.
The Lord helps them and delivers them;
he delivers them from the wicked and saves them,
because they take refuge in him.
