On behalf of Point 27, I would like to offer condolences for Commander Paul R. Bauer. Please know we are eternally grateful for Paul’s service and his ultimate sacrifice.

To honor Commander Bauer, Point 27 sent 27 Thin Blue Line Dog Tag Necklaces, engraved with “Blessed are the Peacemakers for they will be called children of God” Matthew 5:9, to the Chief, Chicago Police Department, for Paul’s fellow officers. Point 27 sent Folded Flag Necklaces engraved with “Greater Love has no one than this; than to lay down one’s life for one’s friend” John 15:13 for Officer Bauer’s family members.

Point 27 is a Non-Profit Organization with a mission to strengthen and encourage members of the Armed Forces, First Responders, and their families, by sharing scripture on Dog Tags and Jewelry called Shields of Strength.

We will never forget and we are forever grateful.

As the son of a murdered Chicago Police Officer, Kenneth Guy Kaner EOW June 19, 1970, a Chicago Police Officer and the Chairman of the Gold Star Families rest assured your sacrifice and family will never be forgotten.

I can imagine you surrounded by my father and a whole bunch of fallen Chicago Police Officers.

As I travelled North on Lakeshore Drive from 55 this evening en-route to Loyola to take my daughter back to school, I was reminded that the city Commander Bauer gave his life to serve and protect is truly one of this nations greatest. A sea of blue from Soldier Field to well past Navy Pier. It is obvious the city you served has not, and will not forget you Sir.

I came in contact with you through a phone call transfer to 018 district and at OEMC. You were a nice person and seemed like a well mannered individual that just wanted to help people.
