Reflections for Captain Peter L. Pischera
I worked with Pete in HQ when we were both sergeants.
A terrific guy who always had a smile for you.
Rest in peace Pete.
God bless you brother.

Pete was a cops cop. Simple as that. He looked out for everyone. We had lots of laughs together and created some great memories. Miss you brother. I know your watching over us.

Scripture assures us that, “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called [children] of God.” Matthew 5:9 ESV and “Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.” John 15:13 ESV.

We cannot fully honor our heroes of the present without paying tribute to our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 9th anniversary year of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. We shall never forget our 9/11 heroes.
Rest In Peace.

Rest easy captain and thank you for your service and sacrifice during those many months at the sites. All of us who were there will one day meet up with you.
Until then please watch out for all of us here. God bless you and the NYPD.

Words fall short for what needs to be expressed. I recall my NYPD brother John telling me he knew Pete as a Sergeant in the Bronx and that he was well regarded as a boss. I remember Pete as fearless professional watching him do a perp search of my apartment after a burglary.
All these years later I owe a debt of gratitude to Pete and family.
My brother John lost his life as a NYPD LODD in the collapse of the North W T C tower on September 11, 2001.
Pete lost his life like so many others from exposure to toxins while they searched to bring closure for my family and so many other families.
Pete's sacrifice will never be forgotten.
